The PAVEMENT thread: Cars, Racing, Drives, Speed...

Did you buy it back from the insurance company? With the hit being in the rear, I'd think you could part it out and make some money off it (depending on cost, of course). Well I don't know about twisty roads, but I might be up for a group drive.

Forked, you say? Does OpenOffice really need more updates? All I know is I've been an happy OpenOffice user for years now. A few months back, I downloaded the newest version (4.1.3) onto my new laptop, and it functions perfectly. (shrug)

    TJ Radiator thickness?

How much depth do you have between the radiator core and your water pump pulley's nose?

    TJ Radiator thickness?

Looking around on Rock Auto, replacements come in thicknesses ranging from 1" to 1 5/16". Most are single row cores.

Because Roadkill, -or- I bought an old ugly domestic car

First, a correction: in my above post comparing curb weights, I incorrectly listed my starting weight at 3300 lbs. It was actually 3320 lbs (I just found the scale printout the other day). I will edit in the correct info. On to today's post. As it happens, my backyard-engineered TPS setup...

    The Ham Radio Thread

Yes, "full quieting" means your signal goes completely quiet when you aren't actually speaking. In other words, no background hiss/static/noise/etc. Word on the street is that's a great radio. They say it's a bitch to program, but it's a reliable unit.

    The Ham Radio Thread

I have been avoiding them due to the different digital voice standards. I have casually read a few online comparisons of C4FM, GMSK (D-Star) and 4FSK (DMR), and each seems to have its plusses and minuses. At this point, I still feel like it's 1980 and the whole Betamax-verses-VHS war has not...

Chevy-swapped 1962 Ferrari 250 GTE -- The House of Muscle

That goes without saying. I shudder to think how much money the guy spent to have it built.

For those of you without MTOD subscriptions who may not have seen this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwTDvO4WO5o There is a thread in The Car Lounge about this video, and collectively most of those guys are losing their minds over this car.

Because Roadkill, -or- I bought an old ugly domestic car

For a variety of reasons, I've been wanting to install some hood vents. I bought a pair from a turbo K-car, only to later realize they are too large for me to use as I would like. Stratton had a smaller pair from a turbo Trans Am that looked like they would work, and when I inquired about them...

    The Ham Radio Thread

Oh, good point. If you're going to remote mount your radio--and that's half the reason you buy one that is remote mountable--you'll very likely want/need to install a remote speaker. I have one in the Jeep and also in the Suburban.

I run a 7900 in the Jeep and another one in the Burb. I could not be happier. Dual band, simple to operate, excellent output, rugged and reliable... need I go on? True, they don't do cross-band repeat but I've never needed or wanted that feature. I think the 7900 is a nearly unbeatable value. I...

You have definitely come to the right place. Welcome to RME! This is Utah's best "non-denominational" four wheeling forum, and a great place to find friends to go wheeling.

Josh pretty much nailed it. The Power Wagon is in production. There are a few trim levels available, but they are all 2500 Crew Cab models with the 6.4L Hemi as the only engine choice.

Can you run a Car Fax for me, please?

If this is correct--and for your sake, I hope it is--that would be incredible. I can blow up the photos you attached and see the windshield sticker number matches the lot number of the web page I posted above. This implies that either the auction yard mixed up the VINs, or else they wrote all...

Can you run a Car Fax for me, please?

This genuinely concerns me. Either the deal has outright lied to you (because they know damn well it was wrecked) or they are completely blind to the situation (because they bought it after it was repaired and they didn't do their homework). In the case of the former, can you trust anything...
