The guy at SEMA explained it to me that if the hitch rolls axially the system doesn't work so that's the key.

See these tiny aluminum spacer pucks above the steering column mount? Mint. Whoever figured out these are what you need to make the tilt column work better is smart. And also so Nerdy into RBVs -that is all. Now my column is tight with zero play. Old Ford problems.
