Damper Rod Forks tuning (right-side-up forks)

So many of us have right side up forks on our kid bikes, street bikes, camp/ trail bikes The majority of these bikes use a Damper Rod to control damping. The damper Rod has holes in it that slow the flow of the fork oil under compression and rebound. They're simple and effective but when you...

    Gravy's 2005 Liberty Renegade

These early 2000 Jeeps are a cake walk to work on. DS rear lock actuator was sticky, so I replaced it. $47.99. 14 minutes flat. T30 torx, trim prybar and a Phillips screwdriver. Also no act of mechanical sympathy goes unrewarded.... Yesterday the blower fan quit working unless it's on high...

Where do you get your local/national news?

I try to do a mix. 1 source = 1 bias The more I observe sources that disagree the more likely I am able to form my own opinion that even slightly resembles truth. That's why I'm friends with Brian and Chad, whatever they say I just dial it back a notch and I'm good. 😄 🥴

    Gravy's 2005 Liberty Renegade

The ADHD scope creep is real! I noticed on my test drive a slight scraping noise that went away under braking. Upon further inspection, I found a sticky caliper slide and nonuniform pad wear. So off to get new pads. Checked the unit bearings, ball joints and TRE's. Then I found some surface...

What did you work on Today; Home Edition

It's May day, which means Bountiful secondary water gets turned on. And I get to fix whatever stupid water pipes broke/ leak over the winter and then add another gate valve and sprinkler head. Luckily my shutoff valve was full of dirt and rusted open, so I got to pester my wife into helping me...

Fat man on a little bike.

I'm selling that Navi. I quite like it, but no time to ride it lately, other than to the store for eggs and milk. You can come borrow it for a while to see if she likes it. It's pretty great, same size motor as the Grom so it's pretty quick, Honda reliability and the storage space is a huge bonus.

    Gravy's 2005 Liberty Renegade

I hate to say it but 33s don't fit on these. A 31 will fit with a 3-in lift and that's about the biggest lift you can get. Even that is kind of iffy unless you do a diff drop. I think two companies make front upper A arms but nobody makes lower arms so the ball joints that handle much more than...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Evaporust works better, but once a chain rusts It's buest to chuck it. Especially on those little ones. Too much slop in the pins and they come off. Ask me how I know 😂
