    Keeping Cool

Yeah, that's what I have read and have been told (painting them with header paint first). I had budgeted about $200 for this stuff and basically had a choice between coating the floors and wrapping the exhaust (they will both be about $100-$175). I want to put something down on the floor anyway...

    Keeping Cool

Thanks for the recommendations. I think I am going to start with covering the floors with an insulation coating (like Lizard skin or something similar) and some heat shields under the floor to start with. If it is still hot I will then look to wrap the exhaust.

    Keeping Cool

Looking for a little help/advice here... I am looking for ideas to keep a tube buggy floor/cab cool (interior panels will aluminum). My past two cars were just a two seaters. I didn't worry too much about keeping things cool when it was just a buddy and I cruising around. Now, my current...

What is your Favorite Rock Crawler(s)?

Anything that Jason Paule and the Twisted Customs team makes... I love the old classic straight lines they use. I actually reached out to them to build my chassis and had a few phone conversations with Jason (super nice guy). They were just out too far for my timeline but the price was awesome...

    Cracked Oil Pan

I'm having mine welded but PM me a price just in case.

    Cracked Oil Pan

I only used it because the instructions that came with the "kit" I bought called for it. Only in two small spots at the corners. Guess I will skip that part after it is welded.

    Cracked Oil Pan

I am thinking I put too much RTV in that corner and that's what caused it to bind.

    Cracked Oil Pan

I was doing an f-body oil pan swap on my 5.3 tonight. I was almost done and torquing down the last bolt to spec when I heard a POP! Upon closer inspection I noticed that I cracked the oil pan at the back. The crack runs right along the very outer corner of the pan diagonal right next the bolt...

Davis or Weber County Exhaust Shops

Thanks for the recommendation. I actually spoke with them yesterday. That is probably who I will use.

Davis or Weber County Exhaust Shops

There is a Meineke in the same parking lot as Kirkhams on about 32nd and state. I know it has changed ownership since the last time I went there but Fritz is the man! He isn't the owner but I have used them 4-5 times with awesome results. They did everything from a full custom exhaust on a tiny...

Davis or Weber County Exhaust Shops

I am looking to have exhaust done on my buggy before I start on the interior. Thinking that it would help a shop out if it was easily accessible. Are there any good exhaust shops up north that you might recommend? They will be squeezing the pipes around drive lines, tubes and tranny/tcase...

    Any Concrete Experts On Here?

Whelp! It's all done now... I went with a bid that was pretty close to the middle as far as price goes. I was concerned with price but I was more concerned with a guy that seemed honest and easy to work with. It was sort of difficult to gauge this as meeting with contractors was a little like...

    Any Concrete Experts On Here?

Thank you for the advise. You were right, I didn't understand the last paragraph but 45 seconds on google and I knew exactly what you were saying. So, for a best long term result some sort of stone base is worth the extra cash. I was talking to my pops and he said something to effect of "quality...

    Any Concrete Experts On Here?

One of the guys mentioned this... sort of. He asked how old the home is (4 years) and said "Ohh, you'll be fine. The ground should have settled by now.". I should also mention I live in Syracuse. I have been told the ground here is mostly clay (by the highest bid). But, when the landscaper...

    Any Concrete Experts On Here?

I have been getting bids to remove and pour a new patio as well as pour an RV pad for me. The more bids I get the more confused I become... The bids I have received so far range in price from $5200 to $17,000. I figure the 17K guys bid it extremely high because he doesn't want the job. So, I can...

    Attn: 42 Inch Krawler Owners

Anyone out there in RME land own a set of 42 inch red label krawlers? If so, can you please put a tape against them and either post up the actual height or PM it to me? I know that a mounted tire vs. unmounted tire will measure different as will a tire mounted to a vehicle. Please share that...
