    Spotted

We saw several of those last August as well. The smoke was pretty thick when the wife and I were in Ouray due to fires. I sure hope they aren't like that again this year.

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Continuing on with my tube roller cart. The 1/2"-13 x 2.5" bolts welded to the end caps. Pressed into square tube for final welding. Axle TIG welded together. Axle completed and ready to be mocked back into position for the base. Cart base being welded together. A couple of my...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

After parking the wife's Acura back in the house garage I decided to tackle a job that I have had on my white board for over a year and a half now, a cart for my tube roller. Up until now I have had it under my fabrication bench but it is a PITA to lift up from under the bench when needed so I...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I was able to put in some QST in the shop on Saturday as my wife had lunch plans with her siblings. I started by servicing her Acura and then went to work polishing her headlights. I am embarrassed that I let them get as oxidized as I did before addressing them. Driver's side was starting...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Thanks but nothing special. I'm just a mechanic with some extra skills that I've developed over the years. Nowhere as good as I would like to be though. Mike

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I had a small machining project come through my shop door the other night from a fellow forum member who is building a rock buggy. He is adding an ORD underdrive to his NP205 and needed the NP205's smaller 80mm input bearing bore machined out to accommodate a 90mm input bearing. Taking some...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Lastly, before closing up the shop last night I started working on a few new clamps for my welding/fixturing table. I picked up four inexpensive Vise Grip style locking clamps to compliment my "F" style clamps that I modified last year. I picked up some 5/8" shoulder bolts to use as the bases...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Installed/completed pictures. Generator exhaust tip, just ahead of the street side steer tire. This is the one that I had to machine the reducer for. Aqua-Hot exhaust tip, just forward of the street side drive tire. This 1.75" tip slipped right over the 1.75" exhaust pipe. Engine...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Over the past couple of evenings I was able to complete a few small jobs. I've had new polished stainless steel exhaust tips sitting on my workbench for a few weeks now to replace the chrome exhaust tips on our coach that were starting to corrode. I had to machine a reducer for the generator...

    Need diesel shop near Ogden

Holy crap. I wonder why? I guess I'll have to stop by and see what's going on as it's been a while since I've talked to him or his dad. I know last fall they were having a hard time finding help, pretty much like any of us, so I wonder if that is why. Sorry, I thought that they would be more...

    Let's Talk Lawns

My yard is getting there but I waited a while to start watering this spring as per our cities request. Now that the temps went from 70's straight to high 90's and triple digits it's having a hard time catching up. I did add another sprinkler head to my front parkstrip as well as one in the...

You will love that Topside Creeper. My wife bought me mine for Father's day about 10 or so years ago and I love it. With all of the plastic on the front of the vehicles these days it is nice not to have to lean or put pressure on them.

    Need diesel shop near Ogden

Is Wild Diesel still performing work on vehicles? I ask because I thought Ken Jones sold the shop in 2019 and then ended up buying it back but only as a point of sale for parts and accessories, no actual work. Has that changed and they are again performing actual work on trucks?

My cousin owns Wilson Lane Service on the old highway and 21st street. His son Marshall does a lot of work on light duty diesels and is a Ford fan and knows them well. Yes, there's something wrong with him... Give them a call @ 801-731-1616 and ask for Marshall.

    ZMotorSports 2011 JKUR Build Thread

All three steps completed, unmasked and wiped down. Also plastic treated with Aerospace 303 and windows cleaned. Not quite as good as new but pretty close, especially for being 10 years old with nearly 130k miles on the clock. Thanks for looking. Mike
