    Bart's 2007 JKUR

Bart, are you still running the CRD60 semi-floating rear end or did you upgrade that as well? I can't tell from the pictures very well but the rear appears to be a full-floater. Mike

    Bart's 2007 JKUR

Those turned out nice Bart. I don't care for most of the options out there either. Of all of the ones I've seen personally, I think I prefer the MCE as well but I still can't seem to part with my OEM ones. I've worked hard to get my bumpstops fine tuned to work with the OEM flares and now I...

    ZMotorSports 2011 JKUR Build Thread

I took the day off from working in the shop to go play Saturday. It was our local Jeep club’s monthly run and the weather was supposed to be nice. I haven done much with the local club this year so I decided to go and meet some of the new members that I haven’t had the opportunity to meet yet...

Yeah, pie cuts and getting everything clocked just right take more time than people think. Looks good. Mike

    ZMotorSports 2011 JKUR Build Thread

Sorry to disappoint ya, no machined aluminum gear as something has to be the sacrificial component and I'd rather it be the actuator gear than the damper door itself which is much more in depth to replace. I do appreciate the confidence however. :D Mike

General Tech What did you work on Today?

As much as I hate interior work that 1/4" is definitely my "go-to" ratchet when working on interiors. I also traded my standard 3/8" Snap-on 14.4 cordless ratchet for the extended neck as it is much more useful over a wider range of tasks. I don't use a lot of battery powered tools but there...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Last night I had to pull the recirc actuator back out of my Jeep to re-clock the splines. I hate doing a job twice.:mad2: But I guess it happens. Full pictures can be seen in my Jeep Projects thread, hope the information is helpful to anyone who has to perform a recirculation damper door...

    ZMotorSports 2011 JKUR Build Thread

On Christmas Eve as I was leaving work when I started the Jeep I heard that ugly click, click, clicking sound coming from under the dash. I have replaced several of the blend door actuators on the Jeep JK’s so I swung by my local NAPA and picked one up but didn't have time to tear into it...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

The silicon bronze is very strong and nearly as strong as the original cast material. I hope I'm paid in more than just ice cream. Mike

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I made more progress on the White Mountain ice cream maker last night. Made a collar to grasp the splined shaft in the 6-jaw chuck. Facing the splined shaft to length. Machined to length and turned down to the minor diameter. I left the minor diameter slightly oversized to compensate...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I had a guy that I did some work for about ten years ago when I had my business contact me via one of my YouTube videos over the weekend. Evidently he only had my old phone number which is no longer active. He had a small job but was desperate and asked if I would be willing to help him out...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I purchased them from econolight.com. I've been so impressed with the LED's I put in my shop a few years ago I went back to econolight for these. https://www.e-conolight.com/savr-led-traditional-style-wall-pack-e-wrt-series-112-w-4000k-5000k-dark-bronze.html Felt like nice quality and I...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I didn't get anything done in the shop last night but I worked on something I've wanted to get done for a few years now on the outside of the house. The lack of lighting outside has bugged me about this house so I finally got around to it last night with the help of a friend. On the west side...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I’ve had a project sitting on my workbench for way too long. A gentleman my wife works with had asked if I wanted a side job and could take a look at an ice cream making machine for him. That was a couple of months ago but I haven’t had time to look at it until this weekend. It did allow me...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Sure. As long as they haven't been welded on as the last ones had been hardened from the welding process and I had to anneal them to become machinable. Mike
