    UTV Trails

I just picked up a side-by-side and I am looking for suggestions for day and possible overnight trips. I live in Layton and have been up Farmington canyon and the “B” on the UTV and my Jeep many times so I am looking for something new. The trails must be rated for UTV’s that are wider than 50...

    KM2 reviews?

BIG no-way on the KM2 for winter driving, I take mine off every Fall and put them back on in the Spring. Find a good AT tire that is sipped.

    Vintage License Plates

As previously posted the law states: "This plate identifies a vehicle at least 30 years old, is primarily a collector's item, and used for participation in club activities, exhibitions, tours, parades, occasional transportation and similar uses, but is not used for general daily...

    Toyota E-brake adjust? Menlove SUCKS...

If you need something else done on it down the road take it to LHM Lexus in Salt Lake and ask for Shane. It will be done correctly, take my word on it. (He is ASE and Lexus "MASTER" certified and has his Lexus "Advanced Level Specialist in Engine Performance" cert. He also does Toyota work on...

Bulk potting mix/soil - where to get?

J&J had some nice stuff last year, my son put about 5 yards in planter boxes and I would recommend it. You might check with Rock-n-E on 5th south.

The Rubicon vs Hole in the Rock

This is a tough question, both trails have their challenges but are completely different. HITR has some challenging sections with easer sections where you can just drive and enjoy the scenery. The Rubicon is one rock followed by another rock followed by another, etc. not overly difficult but...

Now that we know what you tow with, Let's see some pictures

I ran the car in the 130 Club in 2006, you need to make 2 passes between 130 an 140 but no faster that 140 in a mile. On the Salt 130mph is more difficult than on asphalt, I have heard estimates of 18-20% losses due to the surface. The car did this fairly easily, up to 135 in just over the 1/2...

    LED headlights

I have the IPF replacements and like them, see the attached link. I did not like the bulbs that came with them so I put in Silverstars and they were much better. http://www.northridge4x4.com/shop/ipf-920h4-jk-headlight-kit-jk-920h-kit

Opinions on a new wife vehicle

I was going to recommend the Lexus but you (your wife) needed to decide after all it is her car. My son (you may remember him from the hole in the rock trip) works for LHM Lexus in Salt Lake and he loves the F-Sport's.

    Local 8.1 PCM tuning

"The want comes from pulling with diesels the last ten years. We will see when it warms up how it pulls the boat and go from there." Pulling a boat should be not problem. I pull 2 different trailers, a 24ft enclosed trailer with my race car in it and a 16ft car hauler and my Jeep. The...

    Local 8.1 PCM tuning

The 8.1 will never compare to the diesels in pulling power or fuel mileage. The 8.1's maintenance cost is less than a diesel and fuel cost's less. If you want to pull like a diesel a blower is you only choice. As for GM leaving a little on the table it is probably crumbs. Cold air intakes...

    Local 8.1 PCM tuning

I have used a programmer with mine trying several different tunes and any change is almost undetectable. Without a cam and or head change there is not much HP gain from just a tune on a gas engine. The GM engineers have the system optimized fairly well with good protection from knock damage...

    Local 8.1 PCM tuning

I have owned an 8.1 for about 13 years. What are you looking to get out of a new tune? Have you changed the cam or heads?

    More Proof Jeeps Hate me!

I have been running the Synergy ball joints and the Teraflex drag link but still have the stock tie rod, along with the TF sleeves and gussets. I like the Synergy ball joints because they are grease able, not sure about the TF. The Teraflex drag link is a nice part, very well built.

The PAVEMENT thread: Cars, Racing, Drives, Speed...

I apologize for taking up so much space on the thread but I wanted to share a quote from a August 2005 Hot Rod article about Big Red. "That's when it happened. Amid the polite conversations of tire ratings and frequent V-12 tune-ups there came a rumble that seemed to generate from well below...

The PAVEMENT thread: Cars, Racing, Drives, Speed...

A few years ago at the Silver State I had the opportunity to hang out with Big Red's driver RJ, his dad and the crew chief Dave Ward for a day. Big Red is an amazing icon of American engineering and brut horsepower. To stand next to the car, hear it run and watch it perform is something that...

    Hole in the Rock?

I was just down there a couple of weeks ago for my third time and I think a Tahoe is going to have some problems. The frame on a Tahoe is very low even with 33's and a leveling kit. The trail has some sections that get very narrow and off camber as well as some drop-offs. If you take the...
