V8's had low range. There is a little T-Shaped handle on the center console to shift into low range. I used to have a 2006 Commander with a 4.7L V8. Hemi versions had a better traction control system.

See I know a lot about land Rovers. Not a ton about Japanese cruisers.

My brother thinks he knows it all because he has imported 2 cruisers from Japan. One was nice. The other had lots of issues. I don't think he has sold the second one yet. Is that one worth owning?

Is the engine a VM diesel? My brother was saying it's a 5 cylinder gas motor.

What can you guys tell me about these things. I found one with 227K miles, right hand drive, chassis is pretty clean, no major rust. It says it has a 6 cylinder diesel. Its the long wheel-base 4 door. Looks like the one pictured below. Reliable? Parts hard to get? Does it have a turbo?

Would this work with a 700R4 transmission and are you interested in just selling the engine, computer and harness?

I think I'm going to convert the transmission to full manual valve body. I like to shift it that way anway, so might as well.

On of the favorites I've taken on a overland trip. It was a perfect trip, I must go back.

There's more than one exit? Crap I always take the long way out. That's how I blew up my rear axle last time. The exit is harder than the usual bits on the slick rock. I've done it on 31's though, so it can't be that extreme.
