I had the same problem on my 04 WJ last year. (although mine is a 4.7)I torn into the electrical system to find nothing.. then I read online that it was probably the wire connection to the starter.So i crawled under the jeep and tapped the wires on the starter and everything was back to normal...

i havent done it in a TJ but it cant be too bad. the lockers only require 12v to engage. I'm doing this swap in my grand cherokee right now.

right now im in the process of beefing up a JK 44 front and they are easy to work on. so far it is trussed and im getting ready to upgrade the ball joints (like mentioned above) then when I can, im going to sleeve it as well and plan on running 37's on my grand cherokee. if you can find a JK...
