I did a quick check and that pump is supposed to put out 43 GPH at 40 PSI. The Walbro 255 is rated at 67 GPH. Maybe a bit of overkill.

From what I have read the Walbro isn't that quiet either. What model of MSD did you use ? does it have adequate flow at pressure for your engine ?

Thanks, I too have been reading good stuff about the 255 Walbro and have been talking to the tanks inc guys. If I hadn't just had my tank cleaned and relined I would put in one of their pump units but I don't want to cut the hole in my tank bigger to use one.

Did you have to change the drivers side manifold to a center dump ?

I figured that they do it to keep the pump supplied when the tank is low like Mike says. The custom tank I have drops it into the "bucket" around the pump but does it from above so maybe I need to get it to deliver it next to the pick up instead.

I have noticed that many gas tank sending units have the return line coming out very close to the fuel pump pick up and was curious why. It seems to me that picking up the returned gas would tend to make the pump run hotter. Why not return it away from the pump and let it mix with cooler gas...
