Central Utah February RME Trail Run - Little Sahara Dunes

Looks like some mediocre weather next weekend. On a positive note, a little moisture will make MUCH better grip on the sand. Those of you/us with open cabs will want to dress warm! Jared

Official RME Monthly Trail Run Planning

I've never been to the Swell, but have always wanted to. My vote is there and make it an overnighter. Jared

    My work/tow rig... (constant changes)

You do need to get back to work.... A JKU or Willy's isn't really heavy hauling and any decent 3/4 ton truck should handle it fine with a good trailer and brake setup. A Vortec 454 isn't going to win any races up the hills, but it will get you there every time. The expense of poor MPG's...

Central Utah February RME Trail Run - Little Sahara Dunes

I'm going to try and swing by. No idea what I'll drive... JK, F150, XJ, quad. I might even have my 2018 F150 by then. Maybe I'll tow a Jeep and ATV and bring a grill for some burgers. It would be cool to coordinate a good meal. Jared

    General Dirt Bike Questions

My strap style knee pads rub my knee every time it bends, like they are stationary and my knee skin moves. It's annoying and chafing enough that I seldom wear them. I've never tried the slip on style, but would like to, based on my strap style experience.

    Oreion

I think they look like a cool setup. They only push about 68 HP, so comparable to a Teryx in power, but a few hundred pounds heavier. The 5-speed manual seems like a good thing (I loathe CVT's), but I'd worry about having a deep enough gear for rock crawling or highly technical trails.

For Sale Motorola Moto G5S Plus

Open box, but brand new. I got this for my birthday but my wife surprised me with a different phone. Being the good husband I am, I am keeping the one she bought me! I'm including a brand new 64GB Samsung micro-SD card, a pack of 5 tempered-glass screen protectors, and a new TPU (flexible...

    Imported mini-trucks

That's kind of what I envisioned. JKU #3 and XJ #16 (not a typo) are sitting in my driveway. I've had a TJ, a YJ, a ZJ, a Bronco II, an S-15 Jimmy, a Ranger... I'm ready for something new and unconventional. I thought our Kawasaki Teryx4 was a blast. It's about the same size and has roughly the...

    Imported mini-trucks

I'm sure they are under powered, particularly to us in the Untied States. Top speed is around 55-60 for most of the recent models. 60 or less HP is tiny, but it should move a sub-2k lb rig on 30" tires around fine with low gears and low range. Guys in the UK and Australia have some pretty...

    Imported mini-trucks

Anyone have any experience with these little Kei trucks from Japan? They've been around there since the 60's, made by all the various auto makers. They are generally around 50-60HP coming from a 0.6L 3 banger, 4x4 and low range available on many models. Most manufacturers also offer van models...

    JKRU front end noise/death wobble

I replaced the hub assembly and the noise went away. I had figured for sure it was fine after handling it. Everything on the front end feels pretty tight. But as the steering wheel is moved side to side, I can feel just the slightest little knock at the drag link/pitman arm joint, which is...

    JKRU front end noise/death wobble

That's what I've done and it did change the sound to swerve left or right. I've just never had one of these feel fine off the Jeep when it was bad. If pulling the front drive shaft doesn't stop the sound I will replace that hub assembly. I'll report back. Thanks

    JKRU front end noise/death wobble

I haven't really tried to diagnose the death wobble yet. But, I've been through it with probably 5 different Jeeps now and have found everything from worn ball joints, worn steering stabilizer, to bad control arm bushing. I'm sure I can get it pinned down. My bigger concern right now is that...

    JKRU front end noise/death wobble

Ever hear of a hub assembly that ran rough under the Jeep but rolled smoothly in hand? I haven't, and I've probably replaced 5 or 6 of these over the years on various vehicles.

    JKRU front end noise/death wobble

Our '08 Rubicon (D44 front) started to have a bit of a growl or rumble coming from the front end a couple weeks back which gradually got louder. My wife and I both agreed it sounded like it was coming from the driver's side. I figured it was a hub assembly, a very common issue on Jeeps, just...
