Thanks Dave, that's the exact education I'm after. Maybe I spend a little more on a head unit and upgrade speakers later. Just point me in the right direction.

Is Kenwood or Boss crap?

I don't intend on swapping out the stock speakers. Cheapish because I assume crap head units are sluggish and dont support wireless Android auto as seamless as nicer ones.
