It looks like there are two tunnels to access I-70. Is that correct? Which would be best for a fullsize 2nd Gen Sequoia? I appreciate all the info from you guys. My group isn't very set up and we have some novice drivers so I'm trying to over plan.

Awesome info! How difficult would the climb out of Eagle Canyon the opposite way be? Sounds like significantly more challenging. Open diff Ranger and 4runner on 31s will be with our group.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. Yes, we're planning on Black Dragon and then over to Swasey's cabin on day 1. Day 2 we were going to run through Goblin Valley down to Cathedral Valley and to do that we need to cross muddy creek. How was Swasey's cabin to eagle canyon this year? Easy...

Looking at taking some friends on this route again. By any chance did any of you cross muddy creek south east of Goblin Valley this past weekend? It's the only place I'm a little worried about my buddy's 98' Ranger making it on.

What were the dates on this trip, looks like July 16-18th? Any snow left? How were the bugs? If you had to do it again would you go earlier or later in the year? How was the trail? Anything you'd do differently?

We did Black Dragon, no problem although it was a snowy, then slushy, then muddy mess getting there from the West. If I had to do it over gain I'd avoid that long drive in and just go in from the East, up to the end of the canyon and turn around and come back out. Didn't do Eagle Canyon. Too...

Hmmm.... my 2nd Gen Sequoia is a fat pig but it's got a lot shorter wheelbase than an Excursion and should be a hair narrower. Less ground clearance too though.

Looking at doing Eagle Canyon from East to West, just curious on current conditions. Some of the reports back in ~ 2016 show a tight squeeze on rocky hill climb. I doubt that I could do that right now with open diffs and no rock sliders. Curious if that climb out is still difficult, I saw one...

Also has some timbren bump stops up front and a ton of other stuff I can't remember. This was my baby for 20 years. I'm really sad to see it go but 5 kids, wife, expenses, time, energy, etc just doesn't make a lot of sense for me to hang on to despite the emotional attachment.
