Does anyone know why Suburban 2500 started making them with a lower tow rating starting in 2007. 2006 and older can tow 12,000lb where a 2007 can only tow 9400lb and the 2008 7400lb...according to MSN auto info. We are looking for a suburban to tow our trailer which is 11,000lb fully loaded...

We were looking for an excursion diesel for starters but couldn't find any we liked. If we get a suburban, it will be newer and they are no longer diesels. Plus, it will mainly be wifes vehicle so she wants something comfy.

There's a '04 burb with 8.1 liter for sale in my area. thinking of looking into it. looked at excursions for 3 months and all of them were trashed. too bad ford doesn't make them anymore.
