A lot of people have told me that you can’t weld galvanized for two reasons: the fumes will make you sick, and the galvanized coating ****s with the weld. I make sure I have positive ventilation, I push the weld, and I keep the arc from touching the galvanization and let the weld puddle flown...

Not as bad as the plasma cutter. 😬

The most important thing with a soldering gun (YouTube University graduate, here) is the watts output. Some barely put out enough watts to melt solder. Higher watts will melt solder faster and produce better results for you.

As far as soldering, YouTube helped me quite a bit with mine. Crimped connections can be great, but really good crimping tools/supplies are way more great. Your dad’s cheap-ass stamped 12 gauge crimpers just damage the heat shrink on shrinking butt connectors.
