Is it ok to have a "make light of" thread?

Why get two 7,000lb axles, when four 3,500lb axles do the same thing? I can’t even imagine the scrub this thing has!

If anybody is wondering if you should hold a piece of tube in hand while you try to cut a bolt head off with a portaband, the answer is no. Unless you want to go the ER to get it stitched and schedule your tendon repair surgery. Edit: ER doc says I have enough movement I’ll probably not need...

    Making my trailer spring over

Is the bottle wide open, or just cracked? Also, what polarity are you running? I’ve been running my new HF mig on 20cfh in the garage, but noticed when I take it to the driveway, even the slightest breeze causes me to get porosity, so I crank it up to 35-40, and try to get my back to the wind...

    Budget offroad trailer build

True. I’ve ordered enduro joints from China that seemed good quality. I do know most trailer spindles, hubs, etc are made in China, so hopefully I could find a solid source.

Found some better looking timbren knockoffs If price is right, perhaps I’ll order several pairs to test

    Budget offroad trailer build

Here's the Chinese independent trailer suspension. I can't imagine it being terrible quality, seems like a huge majority of trailer parts are made overseas these days anyways. This would also probably be pretty easy to duplicate and build myself, but if the price is right, I think just ordering...

    Budget offroad trailer build

Years ago, I built a teardrop to haul behind my TDI samurai. I had it about 75% finished, then decided to sell it before ever using it. Door and windows were sourced from an RV part out. It's been almost 10 years ago now though, and I'm wanting some sort of trailer to haul behind my Yukon and...

Tools that you just can't live without

They also sell glycol chillers for food service, and I’ve been thinking about buying one to build a cold plate for a home bar. Had any issues with your TIG chiller?

I’ve only used a handful of Vevor tools, but in my opinion, everything has been of excellent quality. I need to order some more stuff from them.

I know a lot of guys like the little metal angle finders. I picked this up from Home Depot, works well, and I can zero from any angle I choose.

That would be handy! In high school machine shop, we learned all the decimal equivalents for writing blocks the old school way. Unfortunately, I don’t use it enough to remember it well after 13 years.

    Dream job?

I went to trade school immediately after high school for HVAC back in 2013. Although it pays the bills, and being at a state college has its perks, it kinda sucks at times. I often say I would’ve done machine tool or welding if I could do it again.
