1" or 1 1/4" Die?

I'm looking at ordering a new die for bending smaller tube & was wondering what would be the preferred size, 1" or 1 1/4"?

I'll be using this smaller tube for things such as Tube Doors, Cage Supports (Dash Bar), Stinger Supports, Bumper Supports, etc... I was about to go with 1", but I'm changing my mind last minute. I'm leaning towards 1 1/4" now, just to be safe.

Thoughts?

3.5" Radius, eh? I'll remember that.

Do you think 1" is enough for using as support to a Cage? Not a piece that will see direct impact, just to spread out the forces & tie in the main pieces of the cage.

I'd probably use smaller tube across the dash, then another vertical piece from the dash bar, to the A Pillar, down the center. (Does that make sence?)

I used some 1.25(that I just happen to have) for the trianglation(sp), but they are all straight pieces no bends. And they are all no longer then about 7" +or-.

I would use 1.5 for the dash and such JMO.

Yeah, I'll use 1 5/8" for most everything, but inorder to run the dash bar as low as possible, it'll have to bend up and over the Gauge Cluster part of the dash. I was thinking smaller tube would allow more space to see out of.

Mabey I should stop whining about it & just use the right size, huh?

Yeah you're only talking about losing 3/8 of an inch of visablity.

How tight of a radius die did you get for the 1 5/8"?

Yeah, 3/8" is nothing.

5.5" Radius, :D It's about perfect, I could have gone with 4.5", but I like 5.5".

My opinion would be to go with the 1 1/4" die. 1" starts to look kinda scrawny. I think you'd use it more than the alternative too.
