I recently picked up a tow rig, sold my 3/4 gas GMT800 Chevy last month and have been looking at so many different trucks.... I really wanted a manual transmission Dodge Cummins and had a price range I wanted to be in, but it wasn't easy to find at all. This '15 Dodge 3500 long bed came up for sale and looked a bit rough, did not have a manual transmission, but I wanted to check it out. The price was right, it had some killer upgrades and add-ons and was the right color!
It's a Tradesman work truck package; vinyl floors, tiny radio screen, long bed, etc. It's not fancy by any means.... it's a used and abused work truck. It's equipped with a Pronghorn UTD Flatbed with locking tool boxes, Fab Fours front Ranch bumper (no winch mount, unfortunately), new ATS Aurora VFR 3000 Stage 1 turbo, upgraded 6 speed 68RFE from BD Diesel, has been deleted, etc.
It has a lot of miles, a few dents and plenty of rock chips on the rockers. The truck belonged to a local logging company, so it has seen plenty of time on dirt roads.
The Cummins 6.7 with the aftermarket turbo and upgraded 6 speed auto transmission seem to run really well.... it's pretty quick for such a large truck. It needs some cleanup, some minor repairs and possibly new foam for the drivers seat and new seat covers.
This thing it rated at 370 HP and 800 FT/LBS. The payload capacity is 4,480#'s and max trailer capacity is 17,000#'s. I think it'll haul a camper and tow the Jeep just fine!
I have some plans for upgrades, better wheels & tires, better shocks... we'll go from there.
