1998 Jeep Cherokee, Sport model, 4.0L, automatic, 4WD. Rubicon Express 3.5" lift was installed 5 years ago. Tires are 31" Big-O, and have about a little over half tread life remaining. I always kept regular intervals of 4000 miles on the oil changes. Last year I did a complete fluid change in everything. New brakes replaced all around last spring as well. Custom low-profile roof rack. Custom front bumper, has 7 tie-in bolts per side along frame rails. Includes a Cobra CB radio which works, but needs properly tuned.
Jeep has 154,900 miles. Odometer reads 105,042. Reason for difference is the instrument cluster got fried last year and I had to replace with a cluster from a different Cherokee. The difference was 49,857 miles when replaced.
Jeep drives rather well, but there are a few minor issues...
1.) The gas gauge has a bad ground wire. When the tank is full, it will read full, but when you get to about half, it will show empty, or fluctuate between actual level and empty. I never bothered to change it as I knew I could always get 180 miles easy on a full tank, so I just used the tripometer to gauge.
2.) The cruise control does not work. The switch will turn it on, but it will not hold when set.
3.) The drivers seat is a power seat, but the unit won't slide forward or backward, so seat is stuck in furthest rear position. All other adjustments work though.
4.) Jeep has a sunroof, but previous owner caulked it up due to a leak. Can't open anyway with roof rack there. Sun shines through just the same though...
