1999 Jeep Cherokee crank position sensor

I need to change my CPS. My XJ is stalling out while driving and my internet research has led to the CPS being the culprit. First of all, any experience with this? Second, have any of you used an aftermarket CPS with success? I've heard that its best to go with OEM Mopar stuff but I can save a bunch of cheddar if I do aftermarket. I've heard good things about NAPA sensors, and their higher end CPS has a 3 year warranty and I'm saving $40. ($80 vs. $120 at dealer)

Suggestions?

Thanks,
Tyler

I would ONLY do a Mopar sensor. I spent a LOT of money chasing other things after putting in a new parts store CPS. After spending said $ and time fixing/replacing other items (at great expense and peril), I replaced CPS with a Mopar $one and had no issues with my '91 XJ until I sold it a few years later.

I just replaced mine on my 95 ZJ. I replaced one 4 years ago as well. 1 hour of my time. If I need to do it again, I hope it can wait till I build a stroker...

I like the Mopars also. If you still have trouble afterwards it could be the connection. I fought one for months and then hard wired the connection. Instant fix.

Another vote for Mopar. Used parts store unit in son's '95 ZJ, less than a year later was having to replace it again, used dealer part, that was several years ago now and no problem.

Just to update since I hate searching for answers only to find threads with a question and tons of suggestions but then no final answer to the problem... I picked up the Mopar crank position sensor from Doug Smith jeep in American fork for $120 and installed it in the parking lot at work. About 14 inches of wobble extensions to a 7/16 socket, my 18v impact gun (made the job go way faster), and a couple of greasy arms later, it's fixed! I've been driving it about a week now with no issues. It hasn't stalled out on me once.
