I'm Matt Black from Kamas
This is one of my most recent project, another big ugly black Blazer LOL. still in progress as most are.
This 1993 Chevy Blazer, I've swapped a 6.0l into it that my son I rebuilt. it's been bored .20, Flat top pistons, BTR Truck Norris Cam, LS7 Lifters, BTR push rods and valve springs and rocker trunnion kit. ARP Studded, double timing chain, high volume oil pump, P&P 5.3L 706 Heads, 4th gen truck intake w/92mm drive by cable throttle body, 1-7/8 long tubes, flowmasters. I did an NV4500 swap using a donor 94 6.5 K3500, recently rebuilt, and a resealed and bearinged fixed rear yoke BW4470 T-case for now, (was attached to the NV4500). While I was swapping the new power train, I aslo converted it to hydro boost brake assist. Rear end is an 02 Corp 14B FF 4.10 with discs and currently factory LS which seems to work okay still, was low mileage though. Front I swapped out of the donor an IFS 9.25 open still. Suspension is a 6" cheap RC kit up front, only actually raised about 4.5", has RC non torsion bar brackets for a pretty flat belly, and 2010 2500HD lower control arms with energy suspenion bushings in all 4 arms, Trakmotive extendable CVs, I used the K3500 knuckles/brakes, with some minor mods to the upper ball joint hole (welded it in some and re-reamed it fit the upper 1/2 balljoints properly) I completely removed the ABS system as well. Rear Suspension is 4 link with 1/2ton Suburban/Tahoe rear coils that I fabbed up. Tires are 37" Nitto Recon Grapplers on H2 Wheels, Has an Badlands 12K winch which rope hiding behind the stock bumper.
So far I'm happy with it's performance, and the ride and handling are surprisingly very well. I haven't taken it on any challenging or technical trails yet, I still have the 87 for that. I do use it more as an expedition camping rig mostly and to race an occasional Mustang or Challenger at red lights LOL
So far the Swell, west desert trips and Unitas are the only places I've used it in it's current state.
I have all the materials to build a spare tire carrier, and I plan on putting an air locker in the soon. I'll be redoing the exhaust system as well.
Thanks for checking it out, Matt
