If he has the bellhousing it will bolt to the A340 if your 3rd gen is an A/T.

Which is the more reliable swap to do into an 85 runner that had a 22re in it? Muffler shop ruined my motor and figured I would do a swap since the motor is out anyways.

there are lots of reliable swaps you can do, it all depends on how much work you want to do and how much you want to spend. the cheapest and easiest swap imo is the 7m supra swap. a 3.4 and a lexus 4.0 are about the same as far as work and $$ it just depends on how much motor you want. the lexus 4.0 is an awesome power house, and so is the 7m, but the 3.4 by far fits the best. ive seen/worked on all three and they are all very reliable and huge improvments over the dumb, stupid lame duck 22re bucket of bolts
