Glad you asked this. I'm needing one in the next 3 weeks and don't want to pony up for an $800 High Angle drive line. I was going to take mine out to Gaylens in Lehi. He's done a good job in the past and I've been told he can do 2 pieces.

When you say two piece, do you mean splined on both ends, If so I built my own out of two drive shafts and installed springs over the ends of both spline shafts to keep tube centered. It was cake and has worked great. a couple of years ago I landed on the shaft and twisted it in half..as an emergency trail fix I but welded the two halves together and welded some angle iron down both sides to get me off the trail. turned out ugly but held good and to my suprise it ended up with no vibration. I am embarrased to say that I am still running the shaft that way today.

No i mean one with an idler bearing in the middle that mounts to the frame so i can run a longer belly pan and clear my starter and tranny. Im hoping i might be able to make my own;)

I made a two-peice front for my old buggy, but I used stuff that was sitting around the shop, so I don't really know what the parts were from.

On my current build I'm going to make my own two-peice front drive shaft using parts from a rear two-peice shaft from an 88 Ford F-350, just cuz I have it sitting around.

a lot of the old ford long wheel base trucks have carrier bearing two piece shafts. you should be able get snag one at the junk yard and cut the tubes down.

The problem is you need to use a pillow block. Using a normal carrier bearing with rubber mounts will usually just tear out with extreme use.
