*****SOLD*****This Excursion is in very good shape both aesthetically and mechanically. Runs and drives very well and has been very reliable for our family. 180xxx miles, 5.4 V8, automatic transmission, 4x4 with 4.10 gears. Grey cloth interior in great shape - clean with no rips or tears, no funny smells, never smoked in. New in-dash DVD player with bluetooth and USB input, USB power outlet wired right to the dash, smart phone mount, LED lightbar up front, tinted windows, running boards, power windows, locks and seats, removable third row seating. Near new wheels and tires, upgraded HD suspension with factory Ford Super Duty parts (sits ~2" higher than stock.) Handles, rides and tows much better than the stock, mushy, suspension. Drives great in the snow - very sure-footed and predictable. Great overall family vehicle.

I will consider trades - car, small/midsize SUV, 4-door family-friendly truck, cheap yard work truck, firearms, smaller camp trailer, etc. On trades, I'd really like to end up with your trade plus cash in my hand.

$8900

Excursions are sweet. What kind of mileage do you get out of the 5.4?

~10-12 around town, ~14-16 highway. 8-10 towing ~6k. It is sweet and gigantic. 3rd row seat is easily removed, and the 2nd row folds flat to make a whole lotta room for sleeping/hauling in the back. IIRC, there is over 8' of flat length in the back with the seats folded - more space than a fullsize longbed truck. The hatch/ambulance door combo in the back is awesome too - they are all fiberglass, so they are light and easy to open.

If you've ever driven a stock Excursion, you know they are kinda scary, but the suspension upgrades on this one make a TON of difference. Tows WAY better (safer,) very stable and predictable on the road, and does well at moderate speeds on washboard too.

Just a pitch for the gasser: I've towed about 3-5000 miles with my wife's Navigator with the 5.4 and 3.55 gears(?). That's a 32 valve 5.4L so not an apple to apple comparison to Bryson's Excursion 5.4L, but his is three years newer than our Navigator. I'd assume with the gears and the head improvements in the later engines, this thing would pull fine and the bonus is that you don't have an injector pump, turbo, $$$ fuel injectors, and the other "joys" of owning a diesel. He's also fixed the stupid suspension issues on the Excursions. I had a 7.3L Excursion for about 3 months and the suspension was craptastic (other things about that particular 7.3L were pretty sketchy as well or I'd still have that dog).

(in fact, if Bryson is interested in my JKU for trade, we should chat)

I too have had that motor in 2 Expeditions and an F150 and all have pulled fine. I am getting ready to order a new Expedition with the Eco-Boost in it. I am trying to talk my wife into the XL version.

Still available. Lets trade stuff!

I'd love to, but I don't think I have anything worthy of your trade... I can remove and install Sod for you, but I am not a professional landscape guy, so I can't guarantee my results. ;) Wish I had something else on your wish list. Looks like a great rig I would love to have.

GLWS!

The DVD player is similar to this: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/DVD-Receivers/AVH-X5700BHS

It is last year's model, but it looks/functions the same. This unit plays DVDs, USB audio from your phone/thumb drive/whatever, has a standard aux input, bluetooth audio and phone functions (dial, answer, end, contacts, etc. right from the head unit...) Phone audio comes through the vehicle speakers. plus a shload more stuff. As far as the rear audio controls go, I don't think my Ex has them, but I'll verify next time I'm near the truck.

No build thread. Apparently I'm not much for documentation of my projects. But, if you have any questions about anything, ask away!:)
