Wow, that grille is the thing I hated the MOST about the Liberty's styling. Maybe it will grow on me, but I doubt it. The removeable fenders are kinda interesting. The 3.8L from the Pacifica is a much better option that the little V6 in the KJ (IMHO).

The hardtop is gay......(looks totally aftermarket, not OEM)

hmmm not as bad as i thought it would be. its wierd how cars tend to grow on you after a while. You see them for the first time and wonder what the heck is that.

Personally, I don't like it. Sure there are some features I do like but others just take away from the old "JEEP" name. Just my thoughts.

Honestly, I think it could have been a LOT worse. Have you seen the Jeep CARS they are coming out with? (Compass and Patriot)

Way to go DC. They just keep screwing it all up.

I'm very suprised that it doesn't have IFS.

It definately could have been worse. I'm not saying it is completely bad, I don't like the grill, or the top, and the interior is just too fancy for a Jeep IMHO. Oh and the cars they are coming out with is exactly what I mean by liking the old Jeep. Jeep is becoming just another name now, following other manufactures.

I can't agree more. The Liberty was bad, but the new grill on it is worse. That they put it on the new Wrangler just proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the DC merger is killing Jeep.

The Liberty.
Killed the XJ.
The Commander.
The Grand Pacif... err Cherokee.
The Compass/Patriot
... and now this horribly misguided restyling. Do they just not get the Jeep mythology or what?

No new Jeeps for me.

I had one of the 1st tj's that came out...got it in the summer of 96 and still have it. I remember how people thought they where going to ruin jeep,... now tons of people have them.

I like it. Well, most of it. I don't like how the grille is tilted back. Other than that, I think it looks good. I really like that it's wider and longer. More stability. You all say that they're ruining the jeep, yet it has an electronic disconnecting sway bar? Fenders are detachable? They're listening somewhere, because it's got some things that a lot of us do to the older jeeps. Yes, it is looking more like a car, but they're keeping a lot of the good stuff. I'd buy one if I could afford it.

:edit: why did they go with BFG's???? Unless they start putting on the new Krawler-inspired MT's when they come out, that would be slick. Otherwise, BFG's???

I like it. Even the tilted grill.

The only ones who shouldn't like it are the owners of aftermarket companies. You don't have to buy a new top, fenders, disconnects, etc. The 32" tires are the biggest ones J@#p has used yet. It sounds like it has good underbody protection and ground clearance.

I really don't see why people would be complaining............
