I'm trying to plan a camping trip in October but I want to avoid the hunting season. What dates is deer hunting this year? We will be in the abajos near blending and Monticello.

I get confused with those calendars. Based off the one you posted Marc, I should be good to go in early october.

That's just the bull elk one. There will be other seasons on as well. Muzzleloader deer/elk, rifle dear, etc. You'll need to check each hunt as I don't think all the hunts are represented well on the general calendar.

Well, just checked the Elk dates and General spike/any bull is Oct. 5 - 17. This is an any weapon hunt so you'll likely see rifle hunters in the area.

Purchasing license online is pretty straightforward and quite convenient. Where I required a rocket scientist was figuring out what I could put in for, what I couldn't, and when I could put it. Putting in for hunts in UT is very confusing to someone new - once you've done it a couple of times and learn all the little tips and tricks, it's less daunting.

Their website is a tad confusing, now I just go buy my tags over the counter, they went on sale a few days ago in case anyone was wondering.

yes, I've checked it about 8 times. I'm not a hunter so it makes no sense to me. I don't know what a tip buck is, or what a provisional date is, or any of that crap.
