Toyota 22RE Cutting out

I can't do anything with it right now because it is too hot, so while it cools I thought I'd get some ideas.

My 22RE that's been rebuilt a dozen times and leaks oil in every spot imaginable has now started sputtering. It was cutting out to about half power and back for a while, then it would stop cutting out all together for a while then start cutting out again. Where should I start when it cools of and gets light out again.

Cap/rotor, wires and plugs are fairly new. Just replaced the fuel filter. Air filter is okay. A tech a the Toyota dealership said that 1.4 ohms primary resistance was fine even though the manual says it should be it should be .6 - 1.1. What next?

I have 2 ideas for you,

My 7mge did the same thing and it was a cracked spark plug. The crack was a super small hair line so I missed it the 1st time that I pulled it. The stutter was really random, I changed everything under the hood before finding a $2.00 spark plug with a crack. Check all of you plugs. To check your wires put the hood up while the engine is running in the dark and you can see the spark going all over if the wire is bad.

option 2 is put a 7mge in, and do the speed limit over Sardine in 5th gear.:greg:

i am having the same problem in my 1985 4runner. but it is not happing all the time sometimes it runs just fine and i dose it when it is warmed up
