2UZ-FE toyota timing Belt Help

sawtooth4x4

Totally Awesome
I have a 2007 Sequoia with the 4.7L V8 VVTI.

I'm replacing the belt, and i have everything lined up with the new belt. all the timing marks on the cams and crank are lined up with the marks on the timing belt.

The timing marks on the cams are lined up with the marks on the block.

When I went to reassemble everything i noticed my crank pulley is now advanced to 15 degrees. when i took it apart it was set at 0 degrees.

Is this an issue. I've never messed with anything that had variable valve timing. Seems like i should be more concerned with matching the marks on the cams and belts at this point.

got it never mind. thanks.

just took it apart again and realigned it again. the crank moved somehow. man i hate working on toyota's. so many sharp edges and crap literally stuck anywhere. after working on European vehicles for so long, i've become spoiled to well engineered and though out engine compartments. and i swear the power steering vacuum set-up is exactly the same as what i had on my 1985 toyota pickup.
