i've heard to many story's from my uncle in price who usually get's the call's for wreck's on highways 6 just in price canyon, more then a few of those story include the body shearing off of the frame because of the body lift and in some way decapitating them. When i rebuilt my 7 i went with polyurethane mounts which gave me 1" just because my old rubber ones were pretty much non-existant. If you want clearence for tires and articulation do it in the suspension. It's all to common to see the same guys who run big body lifts running massive block lift's to.
Since I must have a few drinks before my last post on this.
Let me make it more clear. I got a 2" on my TJ, which was on it when I bought it. I agree with all the others, 1" is ok. Now about bigger, I have actually found 2" isn't that bad so far. It did allow me to go with 3" suspension lift, which allowed me to kept my stock control arms. That at least on my Jeep helped, cause my Teraflex springs were little softer than I would like. Granted I could have took care of that with shocks I choose. I'm running 33" and I can fully articulate without rubbing on anything. I can also run 35" without problem. But if I was to do it myself, I would do Suspension all the way. So I would say save up and do longarm. Expecially if you are going to drive daily. My body lift is coming off here in future, just for simple fact, it won't be need and for same reason, it is ok, but not ideal choice. After EJS this year, that airbag thing is looking pretty good to me.
