I've got a couple of questions concerning the power steering on my '96 4runner SAS.

My dad has a good relation ship with the guys at EVCO, so i am going to have a new high pressure hose made. My question is what size of fitting do I need to connect on each end (what size to the 3.4 pump and what size to the "85 gear box)? I thought I read that the pump takes a 16mm x 1.5, but I can;t find where I saw that. Also can I use a straight fitting into the pump or do I need to use the Banjo Bolt style fitting?

Also any Idea on ends for brake lines from the 4runner master cyl to the waggy 44 calipers?

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Any time I've had Evco make PS lines, they have told me I have to supply the ends (i.e. you bring them two hose ends with the appropriate fittings, and they make one hose out of the two...) In short, I think you'll have to source junkyard hoses (or new ones from the parts store) and cannibalize them to make your conversion hose.

For the brake lines, I'd use hoses that are made for the waggy calipers, and just re flare your stock hard lines with SAE threaded fittings on the hose (caliper) end. You can buy the threaded hard line fittings at pretty much any parts store, and the metric and standard lines are close enough in diameter that the threaded fittings will usually work on either one. Flaring tools are easily sourced/rented at the parts store as well.

I have the hoses of the box and the pump. I will just have to take them in hand have them splice them. I didn't know i had them until yesterday. I thought my brother threw them away!
