3rd gen runner fender trimming?

Anyone ever trimmed their 3rd gens fenders. Not so worried on the front it seems pretty simple. But the rear has what feels and looks like a pinch weld all the way around. How do I trim that? Anyone around Utah county that wants to give me a hand so I don't screw something up?

I've tubbed the fronts before. I've done my tacoma rear fenders and 1st gen runner fenders before (which are worse than yours).

It's a lot if work, especially if you want it to look good. It takes a while. Its not hard, just time consuming. It looks worse than stock but better than munched up fenders. I would be happy to help. How much do you need to trim them?

I just did the fenders on my first gen. Fronts were easy and rears weren't too bad, either. I cut too much on the front-side of the rears so lesson learned there. Just need to save a few more pennies to get a welder so I can patch them up.

I'd be happy to help as well...

I'm not exactly sure yet. I have a 3 inch lift and pretty good clearance but I do rub when flexed. I think I could get away with just trimming the front, BUT I just inherited a set of 315/75r16 toyo MUDs about 1/4 tread maybe a little more but better than what i have. If I had some one good that could help me tub it so they would fit that would be cool. It is definatly a winter project but something probably worth doing. There rear rub a lot when at full flex.

See right now I think I have plenty of clearance. I think I only rub flexed on the stupid plastic piece under the bumper. I might be okay with the 35s until I flex then I think I will have problems. I am running 2" spacers! Thought that might be something important to point out. And I am planning on an SAS.

I know its tough to do, but if you can keep your current tires until you sas it, it'll probably work out better. Fitting 35s with the ifs requires a ton of cutting.

Once you sas it, you can push the front axle forward and there shouldn't be a need to tub or trim.

As much as I want to put them on I know your right. I think I just need someone to keep reminding me. How much would you push the front forward and would I run into problems rubbing the bumper?

You'll always want to push your front axle as far forward as possible. The bumper is the least of your problems. Your limiting factor will be your steering.

As a first solid axle swap, 3rd gen runners are tough, especially if you're trying to keep it low.
