you use the stock th350 converter. it will bolt right up. If you have any questions just ask. I've done a few swaps. I've put 4.3's in sammy, 4runner, jeeps. I like to use the 96, 97 years.

On the swap. I used the stock 3.0 radiator with no cooling problems. I made my own motor mounts, used the stock exhaust manifolds. I went with an elec fan and had nothing but problems, since i switched over to the stock mech fan no problems at all. The gm power steering pump works great with no problems at all.

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
Sorry to but in, but I'm cleaning up a semi-hack job on one of these in an 87 Toy. I need to wire in the check engine light, but got a bit confused when I saw two wires in the gm harness for the light. I'm used to just one ground wire going to the computer, but maybe these 4.3's are different. I would guess that the other one is power to run a separate light. I'd like to be able to tie it into the stock toy light. I have no idea how the Toy's system works to turn on and off that light. Does the computer send power or ground to it? Does anyone know what wires these would be coming out of the gauge panel?
This might be usefull to 4X4 as well.....

I'll have to look into it. What year motor and harness?? You need to pull the dash cluster out. Find the check engine light in the cluster. Trace the leads back to the plug in. Note the pin location, clip the wires and solder them together. Bypass the stock toyota harness. You can do the same with the oil gauge. On the rear or the motor there is the stock 4.3 oil pressure gauge, remove the sending unit and then the adapter that the sending unit goes into. Tap and drill another hole in it for the stock toyota sending unit. You should have the plug for the stock gauge, plug and its good. If your stock motor was a 3.slow, then you can hook the lead from the 4.3 harness for the tach to the wires in the dash cluster and you tach will work. No adapter or anything to make it work. It will read fine. Hope this helps.

K now I'm wondering if there is any way to get rid of that oil filter housing? Do I just cut down the lines down and mount it somwhere or is there a way to get rid of it and do a diffrent route? And is there someone on here who can help me and my buddy with wiring one of these weekends?

If you are talking about the remote oil filter it is easy to get rid of.

the bolt out of the center of the two lines where they attach to the block. Find a oil filter stud from a yard off a earlier 4.3 and thread it into the hole. Now you are ready to put a oil filter directly onto the block.

get it off of a astro van. They have the spin off filter that sets in the same location just with the cooler adapter between the filter and block. Spin the filter off and use an allen wrench to remove the center stud. Then you install it in the block and spin on a filter, your good to go.
