4 spd Atlas ?

I bought a YJ a couple years ago and it had a 4 spd Atlas in it. The guy I bought it from just had it installed a few months before I bought it. Ever since I've had it I have had a hard time shifting. I realize that it is suppose to be easier to shift while your moving, but there are times I have to stop, put my tranny in neutral or even shut my motor off before I can shift it. I have called advanced adapters and they just say sometimes they are difficult to shift. There has got to be a way to adjust it some how. Anybody have any experience with this problem in there atlas? Thx
 
X2, they're much harder to shift when new. You might want to check the shifter handle angles. They could be binding a bit. Use it a lot and it will break in and you'll also find times when it's easier and you can anticipate your shifts.
 
Ok...thx. I did change the oil and put amsoil trans axle gear oil. I will just keep shifting it. Thx for your input.
