I am doing some work on a 1949 Willys and was wondering if anyone on here has done any mods changing out the brake master cylinder and if so how it turned out for you. I really don't want to put back that little stock one.

A Wilwood maybe? I think you can set the Wilwood masters up for a top or bottom swing pedal. IIRC, the Willys pedal swings from below the floor doesn't it? That's the way my '55 wagon was.
If you do change it out, (and the rest of the brakes are still stock) make sure the bore size of the new cylinder is the same as the old one. Don't go bigger or you will lose your hydraulic advantage. You can get the Wilwood cylinders in lots of different bore sizes.

Good question.......I am working on a 47 Pickup. I haven't decided if I am going through the floor or firewall. I am really leaning towards the floor pedal. For my project I want things kind of clean looking. I may adapt something from another vehicle and make my own pedal. Who knows. One of these days I will start a write up on here.

Don't know if it is what you are looking for, but my brother has a '46 Willy's CJ-3B and he changed out the master cylinder and also swapped it to 4 wheel disc brakes. I can get the complete write up from him if you are interested! He is running a Ford 289 V-8 under the hood and is still running manual everything! The Jeep runs and drives great and is like a go cart on steriods! Good times! Let me know if you need any info!

I have the dual CNC master cylinders with single CNC pedal and it works fine with the 36s on the street but offroad it makes my leg tired since you have to really slam on it when going off ledges. I have a Dodge truck hydro boost setup I'm thinking of using or maybe get a smaller one off a Chevy since the vacuum booster won't fit under the hood. If it has stock tires and axles then any of the dual master cylinder setups would work great for you.

It is 100% stock and has sat for years I was kinda thinking of swapping in a master from a older box bronco since they were 4 wheel drum brakes also he wants to keep it as stock as possible.
