I have a 2003 4runner V8 Limited that I bought with 40k on the motor 6 years ago. It now has just over 100k miles and I have had zero issues. I originally bought this for myself, but my wife took it as her own. Honestly it is my favorite vehicle I have owned. It is completely stock other than a budget 1.5 inch spacer lift to take the mini van look away and a set of slightly larger BFG Ko2 . It is super comfortable to drive and has tons of power compared to any other Toyota I have owned. I am a huge fan of the 4runner or GX with the 2uz motors.

So that's exactly what I've been daily driving for the past eight years. An '02 LX470. It has about 140K miles on it. Just gave it to my daughter.

Other than normal wear stuff like brakes, the only issues I've had with it, are CV boots cracking, AC compressor pooping the bed, a lot of annoying electro gizmo gremlins, and, I think that's about it.

I'd ask about whether the timing belt has been done yet or not. I had mine done at about 110K, just on GP.

All in all, it's been a really good car.

There really aren't any real common things. If it has the hydraulic suspension (ahc) you can check the health of the system but you'll need to check that procedure online. Like Dave said the timing belt should have been done already but can be about $700+ for a shop to do.

Good luck and let us know.
