4X4 swap meet

Sounds like there is some interest. If everyone is okay I will talk to my landlords and see wha they say. But I know we all want this to be free to get a booth to sell but most likely it won't be that way. Its gonna cost something to get the space. I think $5 to $10 aa booth isn't anything outrageous. but I am up for suggestions. Also if U4WDA wants to take a lead I would be happy to facilitate a place and do what I can to help and then let them take over.I just thought this would be a cool thing.

I like the idea and don’t think a $5.00 to $10.00 fee is unreasonable if it goes to toyotajunk2, RME, or U4WDA given the time and effort it will take to organize. I know I have bought/sold a lot of stuff over the BB here for free and would be nice to have it all in one place to look at and compare. I hope it works out and if time permitting I would like to help out, or atleast count me in for a booth.

I'm not sure, but I think once you start charging people an entrance fee, the city steps in and will want permits and fees and crap like that.

BINGO Fees = liability if I remeber right. I'm still waiting to hear back from a family member on a location. But instead of a fee, what about a donation?

There has to be a 4x4 enthusiast that has a large parking lot that will let us use it for free for a saturday....

and I understand Gregs stand of not wanting to promote a business, but maybe a vendor sponsored event is acceptable? i.e. rocklogics parking lot, etc etc.

I am sure my dad would let us use his lot at his shop for a saturday swap meet, but I don't want to step on any toes with vendors on here.

I think Hotdogs/drinks etc is a good fundraiser for U4WDA to get some money at the event.

I dont know if its clear, but I think a 5 fee should be charged to people selling there stuff, I dont think there should be a fee to go and buy stuff.

No no fee to people coming to buy from the Swap meet only for Vendors who would like a booth.
okay, when you say "vendors" are you talking about the joe schmoe that brings some parts and wants to sell?

because my opinion is that a single person selling should be able to bring his junk and sell for free (assuming you get a location without a rental charge), BUT a business should have to pay for a booth...

$5?! I'd pay that to possibly sell my parts anyday. I guess I don't get it, it's only $5. This comes from someone that used to paying $300-$500+ every month in Ebay/Paypal fees.

I personally do not think $5 ridiculous by any means

My thinking is trying to draw as many people as possible to make it worthwhile for everyone...and on the whole, people are cheap :(

No kidding, huh...
I just gave the state over $4k in sales tax fees alone - for one month. $5 is nothing...

I work at a music store in Orem, Parking lot is not huge but it might work. I could get it for free. We could have a few bands goin on or whatever. Let me know if there is interest in that.

I have a small parking lot and a huge field in Ogden off 24th street in the industrial park that might be open to use. It's not paved but its easy access from the freeway and lots of room.
