4X4 swap meet

I know this has been talked about before, but what does everyone thing of organizing a 4 x4 swap meet. I represent a few landlords around town and have been thinking of asking them if we could use a space for one saturday and putting on a swap meet at their center. Before I ask I wanted to know how much interest there would be in such an event. Let me know who would come to buy and who would come to sell. Just trying to figure out interest or not.

There was an RME "swap meet" at Brandon Gillen's house (Anarchy Offroad) a couple years ago... it has the potential to become a cool annual event. I say do it!

It would be cool, but IMO if it's going to be an RME swap meet, I don't want the people helping with the event have ulterior motives (like a shop offering a place for the event).

If you're serious, I'm game for an RME swap meet.

I like the idea.

There is a used gear swap sponsored by Black Diamond for rock climbing equipment each year. And it is a good event for 2 reasons.
1. you can find killer deals on products you need.
2. you get to meet new people that enjoy your same interests.

I think we would see the same results in the 4x4 arena as well.

DO IT!

Good idea. FYI I looked into this a Herriman park, but they wanted everyone to have their own business licences, BS! The only way to do it is on private property. Buuuut could we do it on BLM land?

Just a thought......

How bout turning this into a U4WDA thing. Charge sellers a minimal fee, like $5 or something, and welcome all local shops for a larger fee. Who knows, maybe it could rival the off-road expo!

I could probably get my hands on a parking lot here in the valley.

If the U4 is intrested in being the main entity operating the event, I'd be happy to help promote it on here. 'toyotajunk2' brought up the idea this time around, perhaps he'd be willing to get the place like he mentioned & tackle that aspect.

I agree.. Maybe offer soda/snacks/dogs/burgers to raise money for the U4WDA instead.

I think if you charge people to trade their goods, they won't show.
