5.3 swap harness help

So I'm really interested in doing a 5.3 swap. I'm seeing really good deals on engines that come with the factory harness and separate factory harnesses that include computers and that kind of stuff and then I looked into Painless Wiring and that looks real slick but at $1300 for a harness I'm a little concerned. I want reliable and easy to hook up but at that price I'd like a good deal too. Has anyone got any experience in this area? It's going In a wagoneer and I'm pretty convinced on the 4L60 for simplicity with the computer. Thoughts please

From what I have heard, speartech is the place to go for an aftermarket harness. I'm getting close to finishing up a 5.3 swap in my TJ, and I chose to have the stock harness modded. There are numerous people/companies that do it. Novak up in Logan did mine. Modding the stock harness will save you some money. Let me know if you need a PCM when you get going on this. I have a spare.
