5.71 toyota diff gears

Those are some low gearing. Must be massive tires. Low range off-road has some great gearing. They have 2 brands if I remember correctly. Whether they are warranted or not I can't remember.

I run 5.29 in the crawler with 35's and it does great just cruising around and on the trail ,,4.88's would be a good choice for the 33's as well, have heard bad things about the 5.71 gears

i've heard good and bad.. some people never have a problems and love them others blow them up and hate them.. i'd be interested to see the strength compared to a 5.29 on paper i bet its not much difference

For a DD I would recommend 4.88s. I have heard and read numerous people say that the 5.29 was to low for their D, lost. But, when they dropped down to 4.88s they felt better driving around and climbing.

Probably depends a lot on how much motor you've got. I needed 5.29s to push 33s with my 22re/automatic. I imagine the little sammy motors might too.

I checked with steve at lowrangeoffroad and his little x90 has to have 5.71's to get around without having to put a tcase doubler in it so the high end is lowered. He says his gets around great with 5.71's but he doesnt like how you can only get them in the low pinion housing.

one thing we never established. What is this going in, is it 4cyl or v6, 4wheel or 2 wheel. lol. guess it would be easier to get better info if this info was known.

its going under a project sidekick. I think its a 93 2door sidekick. just havent established with the guy yet what years toyota axles he picked up and from what rig. He said someone told him to go with the 79-85 axles so I will have to get better info from him later. Im clueless in all this, just trying to help the guy find parts for his project to get it out of his garage.

That's pretty close to the 5.86's I've got in my 60/70. I know this is more about Toy gear strength, but I just thought I would throw in what I do know about top speed in that range. On 42" TSL's, with no overdrive, I was just about bouncing off the rev limiter in my Chevy at about 65mph. With an OD trans, and a new much higher rpm motor, my top speed should be over 100 mph in the new ride, on 42's.

I have 5.71 in my 84 runner with 33s and it is awesome great power I use it to pull my sleds in the winter and it does great people say they are junk but they are morons imo..
