Looks nice! That Willys cab looks to be in pretty good condition. What are you planning for suspension? Is this in Utah?

Lehi, huh? Me too! What part of Lehi do you live? I'm on the East side of the freeway, by Sego Lilly Elementry.

It sounds like you've got a good plan, Mog axles will be killer. Keep us updated on the project, I may have to come check it out sometime. :)

Just curious....aren't you going to have an crazy low crawl ratio with the mogs and the 4.3 Atlas?

Sounds like alot of great components. However, it may end up powering itself through your braking system. I can see the disc brake conv. in the pic, but what other components will be used to stop it? Just curious, as we are gearing up for our Mog axle buggy here at the shop and have been discussing alot of the pros and cons of using these axles with certain components. We've entertained the idea of even running an NP205 because of it's tall gearing. It can be modified to front dig, but the weight of it is disturbing. there is the option of the 3.0 Atlas, but we're not sure if we even want gears that deep. I'm also interested to see how tall it ends up having to be with the portals. I know its not a comp. rig, but what is its intended use? Anyway, it looks like a cool project. Good luck! :)

the brakes you see is all it will take to stop this beast,I think the 42"x15.00x16.5 swamppers will match pretty well with the gears and as far as the ride hight I am only planing on haveing 4-8" of up travel the reson is becuse all the comp rig's I see only have about this much up travel the rest is all down. I hope that a manual valve body will help also.

I am building this rig to do what ever it comes encounter with it's not a comp rig but I want it to be good enough to be, I want it to have room to take my girl freind and my two dogs so it is mostly a recreation rig I wont be driving it all around town except in moab.

I too hope that I can keep a low center off gravity

I also built this to get revenge on upper helldarodo that trail killed my xj last year that is where all the parts for this come from is my old xj
thanks for all the intrest Mark

I should have been more specific... for example, what brake master cyl./booster were you planning on using?

I have not decided yet I was think about finding 3/4ton or 1 ton ford with disc front & rear maybe pulling all of it from there but I dont know if they made 4 wheel disc on ford with out ABS so I might just pick up a set up like FTM uses on there uni-mog rig sorry I did not understand what you were asking before

I see... you should talk to Bart (his user name is just "Bart"), he drives a Unimog axle equipped buggy for FTM. He might be able to share some insight on this subject.

Oh, Bartholomew?...

Yup, Bart is one hell of a nice guy and a good friend. "Squirt", the D60 equipped YJ based buggy worked really well. That was a cool rig.
