5mp and Cedar Fort

Decided to take the Ramcharger out for a wander today, I remembered that Mike Judd said the Summit gang was heading out to 5mp today so I went out there. I saw Mike's Suburban in the parking area so I knew they were still there. I got up to the WW turn off and could see tracks heading up to Constrictor so I went up that way figuring we'd hike up Con to see who was there.

I got to that last off angle hill and saw that the double locked rigs had struggled on it, but since my brakes really don't brake on demand atm I had to keep trying to go. I made it almost up but the ice underneath the snow did me in... with the affore mentioned brakes I was unable to steer very well going down the hill and ended up in the deep stuff which eventually put me in a tree At least I finally got to use my winch to pull ME

I didn't notice until later but I messed up my fender a bit coming out of the tree



Sometime after that one of my rollers decided that it hated me and would rather live at 5mp :-\

We drove around to the top of Con where we ran into Crawler Craig trying to get up the hill, he finally made it While talking to him Mike rolled up on his way down... we joined up with them and Mike finally got to see the Jeep in the mine.

We parted ways at the parking lot and I went over by Cedar Fort to mess around in the snow some more (since there wasn't much at 5mp)

The last place I went was the main West Canyon road, it was plowed but the snow had drifted in pretty deep along the West side. I started playing in that on the way out, it was nothing... powder.... Well I turned into it a little more one time The wall of what had been plowed was as hard as a rock and I ended up fully supported by the snow. This stuff was so hard that I had to cut it out in blocks like I was building an igloo, a single column of the stuff would support my truck

I finally got it dug out enough to get it moving (when I was first stuck I still had 9" of snow under the right front tire). I worked it back and forth but wasn't anywhere near getting out of the ditch. Finally I got a little too greedy backing up, went too far and fully supported myself on my gas tank skid/rear axle :sick:

Yeahs! more digging... dug it all out and built a new rut to guide me up onto the road by packing down snow in a curve.







I don't know why that tire felt so out of balance on the way back into town

The moon was cool while I was digging.... too bad my camera wasn't



I tried to convince Talon that he should crawl under the hood and blow real hard on the ARB line so we could get out more easily.... he wouldn't do it.

He did this instead.

I am really digging the Ramcharger and all the work that you have put into it. It sure does look like you had a good time. There are very few things in life that are more rewarding than working on a vehicle and then testing it out for the first time, especially when it works like you had hoped.

Then we ventured down Allen's Ranch road, it was WAY too washboarded for my taste so I turned on a side road which became too deep and crusty after awhile so we turned around and headed for 5mp.

When what do you know, I get stuck again on a plowed road

Same as before, I was dinking around in the unplowed part when I got sucked in I wasn't burried nearly as deep this time, but why would I shovel when bob was along? He didn't weigh enough to pull me out though So in the interest of Bodine not having to shovel much, I let the older Power Stroke that happened along pull me out.
