63" springs on a yota?

Alright fellas, what is a good leaf spring setup for the yotas? I am planning on doing a bunch of stuff on the yota this coming spring, and one of the things I need to do is suspension. I trying to figure out what would give me a good ride on the road, and some nice good flex.

I would love alcans, but they are pretty expensive themselves, so i am wondering what are some good leaf spring options?

I have been thinking of 4 link, but i know it is much more expensive, and i just dot think i have enough money for that right now, I am just trying to get some ideas.

The front springs need to he re done probably too. My ultimate goal is to make it super flexy, ride nice, and I want to fit 38" tires offroad, and my 35s for street use, and keep the truck street legal.

63" are a good way to go for sure. Cheap and easy. Just need to do some fabing and your set.

I have Dakars in the rear of mine. So far I have been pleased.

I am one thats seemed to hate my 63" rears. Although I had a V8, axle wrap was an issue. To cure the issue, I went with a 4-link using aerostar coils.

all pro or trail gear springs seem to do pretty good.

I think i have a set of all pro lift springs in mine, and my whole setup in the back is all screwed up.

I have trail-gears all around and they have treated me really well. They ride real good and flex decent. If it was me I would just try to save my money and do a 4 link. Trail gear makes a kit for a decent price.

Save your penny's, aerostar coils are where its at on a fairly light rig. You wont get the travel of a 16" coilover, but they work awesome for a budget.

This should give an idea.

I have 63's in the rear of my 'runner and a home-brewed rear pack up front. This is what everybody does for a good reason. It works, and works good! My runner feels great on the road! It's not our corolla for sure, but It's pretty comfy! I think with a pickup, the 63's would be perfect as-is, but I want to add another leaf to my pack to stiffen them up just a hair. On the fronts, I built a pack that I thought would work great, but they were WAY soft, so I added 2 leafs and now they're perfect! A lot of your nice ride also depends on your shocks! I have Billsteins in the front, and old worn out shocks in the rear, and I can definitely tell that the front rides better than the rear! I only feel most bumps on the road after my rear end goes over them. I need the pretty shiny shocks for the rear!

no, but the rear does sag just a hair. I'm giong to add the extra leaf out of a Toyota rear pack and see how that does, and if it still need another inch I'll add a 1 inch lift block. But yes, I am very happy with my springs! I notice you're in Lehi, what part??

im running two sets of rears stacked in the front with leafs cut down it rides great and im fitting 40s with a drop hanger and boomerang shackles,

im running a crazy hybred rear springs that work great but are kinda hard to come by.

i ran ranger springs in the rear for a while but ruined a whole set in one weekend in moab they were so soft i could not drive it down the freeway comfortable.

i would suggest maybe some f150 springs they are shorter than 63s by 10 inches and flex and ride good. you can find them in the junk yard also.

im going to be three linking the rear of my truck in march or so. mainly because i want to leave the tank in the stock location and i will be using stock front tj coils in the rear.

I have 63s on my with a rear to front setup have about 4in of lift and fit 35s testing next week end will let you know

63s are a good cheap alternative to high dollar springs. If i remember correctly sky manufacturing makes a kit to throw the 63s on. while the 63s flex great, some complain they are too long and get hung up, another alternative would be ford 58s. I personally ran alcans on my first rig, once they settled in they were great.

forgot to add youll want to break out the sawzall to run anything bigger than 35s without rubbing. I was also thinking it may work to pick up a set of 63s with 2inches of lift or something along those lines.. who knows though.

pelyGroso- I am just south of IM flash. Down through the giant dip/gully thing :)

Thanks guys for all the info, I am thinking if i am going to do this, i better so it right. So a 4 link maybe the way to go. the only issue is, if I go that route, I will need to get a fuel cell. I am planning on building or buying a nice tube bed, since my bobbed bed is starting to get yota cancer. Therer will be a build thread when i start on my re build that is for sure:greg:

As far as fitting 38s, i am planning on getting the high clearance flares for the front, and the suspension will be re-worked. hopefully that will make me be able to fit them. and in the rear, with the tube bed, and could make a bigger wheel well or something along those lines
