Not much last week as the wife and I hooked up the Jeep and headed to Capitol Reef NP for a few days. Upon arriving home and getting the coach cleaned up I finally got back on my trailer project the last couple of nights. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel as far as completion.:D

On Tuesday night I started and completed the wiring and installation of the LED lighting. Here is a picture of the wiring with the frame clamps along the inside of the frame rails.

I also soldered all connections and used heat shrink wherever I "tee'd" in a marker light.

I also used some urethane seam sealer left over and plugged up the holes where I passed the wiring through for marker lights/tail lights.

Last night I installed the ATP on the front and installed the DeeZee tongue box.

Hopefully tonight I can complete the ATP installation on the sides.

Well my little 6x10 Utility trailer project is now completed.

Friday night I made cardboard templates for the sides and then transferred those dimensions on to the .062" ATP.

ATP cut and installed also on Friday night. Very understanding wife as she knew I wanted to get this completed over the weekend.

And before closing up shop Friday night I coated the 2x8's with a good coat of boiled linseed oil, after laying down some plastic of course.

Saturday morning I installed the safety chains and my new coupler lock.

I then installed all of the freshly coated decking and rolled it outside for some pictures.

And here it is with the spare tire cover and the tire protectors installed parked in her new home in the back yard. Ready to provide years of service (hopefully).

Now that is a trailer I will be proud to have hooked behind my truck or my Jeep.:D

After completing this project around 11:00 am Saturday morning, I pulled my old one (5x8 trailer) into the shop to double check everything and make certain all lights were working properly (lights not working are one of my pet peeves) I was able to post it up on the local classifieds. It was only on the internet for about 45-minutes before the first person showed up with cash and it had a new owner.

Sold it?! Did not see that coming.

Like Jeeper said, sold the old one, not my new one.

As fast as it sold it was one of those things that maybe I should have asked for more. Oh well, I got what I thought was a fair price and I am good with what I got out of the old one considering the fact that it was used for the past 14 years and it never let me down. It just wasn't the best looking or very well built but it served its' purpose.

Fantastic ending to a great build thread. Thanks for sharing your skills with us.

Thanks for the compliments Nate. I appreciate it.

Would you mind posting what frame material dimensions and wall thickness you used? I plan on building a 6x10 this year but have been having a hard time deciding what material to use.

The outside perimeter is 2x3x.125" tubing. The crossmembers are 1.5" square tubing by .188" wall thickness. Definitely overkill but I had gotten a really good deal on this steel from the local scrap yard. I think the crossmembers could easily be .125" wall thickness, but I will admist I think I could probably park my Jeep on this thing and it wouldn't flex if it would fit. It is rock solid and tows beautifully. I had to tow it the other day just to see how it towed.
