I have a 97 powerstroke. Let my kid drive it and she ran it out fuel...Now it runs good one day and bad the next...It just wants to stall...I changed the fuel filter and have ran about a half tank out of it...Could there still be air in the system....JUST WHAT I NEEDED BEFORE A LONG WEEKEND.....NEXT???

You could have air in the system still, there is a schrader valve next to the fuel filter on the driver side, press it while cranking and let go when it starts. Do it a couple times and be carefull, if the engine is hot the fuel will be hot.

How long have you run it at RPM's above 2k?

The manual for my 7.3 IDI states after a fuel filter change or injector work the truck may need to be run at speeds over 2-2,500 rpm for 20min to purge the air.

How is your oil level, obviously the HPOP needs plenty of oil to fire the injectors.
