I have an 82 f350 that I can't start, I go it from my uncle it wasn't starting I put a new fuel pump in it and I started right up and now it won't start again. I don't know where to start ideas???

does it just crank and crank, or do you have nothing? spray some starter fluid into the carb or TB. If it starts from that, then you have a fuel issue. if it doesn't start then it is probably an issue with the ignition system....call me later if you want and we can talk.

Does it have a TFI module?, that is always the first thing I check on a crank, no start with a early 80's to mid 90's ford.

In 82 team TTB may have been celebrating their wonderful suspension and hadn't yet installed their next automotive "improvement", the TFI module...

I always had a spare TFI and a spare starter solenoid in my Bronco's glove box

I am pretty sure it is a fuel issue i just dont know where to start, it will start if I dump gas or starter fluid in the carb but dies as soon as its burned up. Im not sure if it has a tfi module I dont know much about it. Would it still start with gas like that if its the tfi module?

TFI is Thick Film Ignition (I think) but it is ignition. The TFI module is a little heat sensitive module that ford mounted on the side of the distributor, you know so it wouldn't get hot...

It is a little grey module. In the mid 90's they moved it to the fender and put a heat sink around it. The module for my 96 460 was actually black, but I think that is the only one I ever saw that was black.

There was a huge class action law suit. I think I was eligible for like $19.00 or something.

do a quick google search, and/or image search, for "ford tfi" you will come up with tons of info. I know my 84 bronco had it, not sure if 82 had it. But that is not your issue if it will start with starting fluid.

I left my uncles in west point if was running good then I got to layton and it started dying like it was running out of gas, but i know it had enough gas. I just know what it could be to just die like that out of know where. The truck had been sitting awhile so I was thinking maybe a fuel line got plugged with debris or something???

I'm no Ford guy but, that sounds like fuel delivery problems!:-\ Check your fuel filter, or filters! Water in the tank could be an issue but, if it ran that far without a problem, it's not likely!:( If it's carburated a float issue could let it run for some distance, then starve the engine after awhile! Just some ideas. Good luck!!

i think it might just be junk in the tank im going to drop the tank and flush it out this weekend
