For sale. Jeep Cherokee XJ. those who know XJ's know that this is the most desired year for them all. no computer. closed cooling, renix engine and the best axles ever used. D44. and the power trans button for power or economy. See photo.
this is not pretty, this is not nice. this is not for long highyway high speed driving. if this is what you are looking for.. keep looking. If you want a bad a@@ jeep to get to where the wild things live. this is your rig. If you have kids and don't have 15k for a 5 seat UTV to go play. THIS IS YOUR RIG.
Everything important works.. is street legal. and has always been registered. It expired in march and I have not renewed it. but it passes emissions great. safety... it might need a couple things.that said this is a very used jeep.
the good:
you will not worry about scratches
BOMB proof 4.0-liter AMC fuel-injected inline 6, which put out a healthy 173 horsepower.
Automatic
4 wheel drive is great
4 newish steel black wheels . full size spare
NEW 3 inch Skyjacker lift. new rear leafs. new front coils. and shocks to match.
I removed the crappy doors that had broken everything and it has a set of matching blue doors with all manual controls. You XJ lovers know how valuable this upgrade is.
Custom steel bumpers
tinted windows and fresh stickers.
NEW EXHAUST from header back , flowmaster . sounds great
front end. I have replaces pretty much the entire front end. it does need to be aligned but i used it all year it just wore tires but there is no XJ shake or death wobble.
the bad.
needs tires. the fronts are gone...
needs alignment
it has all the XJ leaks and noises. if you have never had an older XJ this will scare you. those who know... well they know
needs a windshield. it passed last year. but the crack grew. it might still. I don't know the law.
all lights work. ( except dash ) probably a fuse
horn works.
radio kinda works
washer fluid tank needs a new 17.00 motor. I never missed it. if it gets to dirty i dump a little water on it
is always starts. but it has to crank a little bit. it scares some. ( there is a fix for this , it is a ground that needs to be found and fixed. ( or it is the fuel pump not holding fuel to the engine and letting it go back to tank)
i have drove it 65 on the highway. itis not super fun on the freeway
but it is not for the freeway. it is for the dirt
the brakes work as good as any 87 XJ...
SO. I flat tow this jeep. it drag it behind the camp trailer or truck then load in and go. it is better than Any UTV. it has heat. and windows. So if you need somthing to take the whole family out in and don't want to drop 15 K. this is your ticket.
if you want to build a crawler. this is your rig. it is begging for some love.
