90 GMC truck blowing fuses

I have a 90 GMC truck, that keeps blowing the fuse for the dash and tail lights. It is quite random though, sometimes immediately and other times weeks will go by. I checked all the wiring that goes to the trailer connector and everything looked good. I am not sure where to go from here any help would be great. I think this is a common problem, I have seen lots of gm trucks with no tail lights at night so I know it isn't just me. thanks

Replace your cigarette lighter.

Check all the tail light wires from the fire wall to the trailer plug.
I bet you find a section that is melted on the exaust.

I'm with Ace on this one! had the same problem with my 89 Chev, turned out to be the wire going to the lighter was grounding out when I hit bumps etc...
