Jeep 95 4.0 into a 91 xj??????

I found a 95 4.0 for my sons xj and was just wondering if it will work with the computer that is in his 91? both are 4.0 and both are automatics.... just not sure the computer is going to work....

What say you?

Also his has the r12 a/c and the newer engine has r134a...

What do I need to look for?

You should be able to take the computer to a local parts store and get the computer flashed to fit that engine...usually a couple of day turn around, just make sure you have that vehicles vin info. But the harnesses should all be the same.

The r12 thing doesn't really matter....if you want the A/C to work you can take it somewhere and some shops can still do R12...or you could convert it yourself so it will take r134a...there is a conversion kit for it that you could also get at the local parts store.

91 XJs had the same high output 4.0 as 95s did you should be fine.
