If you're aiming to end up with a 44, what's the point of putting a Toy axle in there temporarily...? Width?

Leafs (like your link) would be really simple, at least as far as a SAS goes, to set up, and would be nice and reliable. Coils may handle and ride a little nicer for you, but at the cost of being a tougher job (and more $$$.)

What are your thoughts about 37s with less than 6" of lift? You know, cut the body instead of the uber-lift to keep it low and stable but still have the ground clearance of the 37s?

I assume with the full-width plans that streetability (legally) isn't a concern?

the for now part with the toy axle is so that it is legally and i would only have to buy one axle not two(d40 in rear already). I'm not sure how big I would have to go to get 37 under it. I was reading about sas on tacoma's and from what I'm seeing you need A 7" lift for 37". I know I dont want a body lift.

7'' lift for 37's on a tacoma.... no way. you can clear 37s with 4'' springs easy.

im running 38.5s with my 4'' springs on my truck and it clears just fine i could clear a 40'' rubber before i have rubbing issues.

For a full width/ righthand drop I'ld go with '79 or earlier ford Bronco/ 1/2ton axels:p! Coil spring/radius arm front, high pinion D44 & 9" leaf spring rear is hard to beat for durrability & ease of installation!

If you want leafs all around, check the widths on early full size waggy's or Scout II D44's. I think they're narrower than full size axels by 4 or 5 in.:D

Thanks, I was thinking of getting a waggy and taking the axles off. I just wish I would have just parted my old one out..

um what side is you front driveshaft on? have you looked? Im not a rodeo guy but that rodeo in the pic has passenger side drop, which means ford axles wont work, might be wrong though...

You don't need that much lift. My rodeo is about 3"taller than stock Rodeo. I am running D44 waggy front and factory dana 44 rear end. Running 35's which is what you want to run on these axles unless you upgrade to cromo stuff. In the front its set up as spring under the axle, in back its setup as spring over. It does great on trail. Stock wheelbase is about 108 mine is streched by 1 inch. Stable. Keep it low and make some decent rock protection. It should be just fine.

X2--This is good advice!! From someone who has done the research!:ugh:

BTW: Is that rear 44 the Alum. center section, like the ZJ's?:-\

Is the bolt patern 5 on 5.5, & if so, how wide is it??

Could be a great junkyard find for a CJ swap!:greg:
