What kind of A/C Compressor should I use for my ARB? Would the stock 4.3L Vortec A/C work? It has a funny connect where you use one bolt to put the hoses on the back. Any suggestions

is it the perfectly round one??? if so then it is easy to replace witha York,,,that one is called something like a Nipodenso (or something like that)...just go to www.onboardair.com and get either the whole kit for $370 pn-KE-4000-K or just get the bracket for $35 pn-KE-4000 and source the rest of the parts...that is what I did/am doing...yorks are easy to find and the rest of the stuff is just a trip to the parts store...

pick n pull or just search the different boards (Pirate, Jeepsunlimited, etc) usualyl you can find one for $20-$40...

One more thing to mention is that you need to get a regulator in order to use the York with you arb...cause the arb only uses like 90 PSI (I may be wrong on the PSI) and the York puts out much higher PSI...

Quoting from the ARB Service Manual...

"...maintains the air pressure ...between 585 kPa and 690 kPa.."

Using the old TI-89.. I get 84.84707657 psi and 100.076039 psi

:D

www.grainger.com ...its basically a wholesale place that usually has good deals on just about any kind of things/hardware/supplies...they are down off of 900 W. and about 3000 S. but I have heard you need an account to buy through their store (never tried so cant say for sure)

No need for an account. Just tell them it is a cash sell. If they give you trouble just tell them it is for pier ced's jeeps or something. I have bought lot from them and never had a hassle.

hey Caleb,

Can I come check out your ride when you get the on-board air done? I am planning on doing it as well... My bro hooked me up with a compressor, but I'm too broke to buy the rest of the stuff needed for it... Another question.

I am gonna run an ARB in the rear and a who know's what up front. Should I run an air tank and have the ARB feed off of that? and just have the york fill up the air tank, then I could easily use air guns and air tools right? Is that what you're doing? If so I would like to see where you mount it and how it's gonna be set up....

Thanks!

I have the original bracket from the vortec, the AC was perfectly round. I just bid on a York from a Ford pickup it is a 210. Is that a good model? Will it work with my original AC mount?

yes, that is the best model to get...and no it prolly wont work with the original bracket...but it isn;t too hard to fab something or that braket (PN KE-4000) might work for you...give Brad at Onboarair.com a call and talk to him, he knows his stuff:D

Do you have the big alunimun brackets on the front of the 88? Mine is a 94 and was just curious if they were the same.

If so do you have a pic of it?
